Savannah Guthrie puts on a brave face in New York after tragic admission about mom Nancy

Savannah Guthrie has stepped out in public amid the ongoing ordeal surrounding the disappearance of her mother, Nancy Guthrie.

The 54-year-old TODAY show anchor appeared calm as she was spotted in New York City wearing a black puffer jacket, denim jeans and gray sneakers. She was accompanied by her husband, Michael Feldman, and their nine-year-old son, Charles, whom she held by the hand at one point. Feldman wore a matching casual outfit, while Charles sported a black-and-green hoodie, light gray joggers and pink Nike sneakers, just hours after Nancy’s neighbor dropped a huge bombshell.

The outing comes just days after Savannah was seen visibly emotional as she made a return to the TODAY show, teary-eyed as she addressed the devastating situation. She has also admitted on Instagram that she knows her mom “may already be gone.” Savannah appeared in somewhat better spirits during the family outing, spending time with loved ones as they offered support and comfort. It also comes after a criminal attorney revealed the 6 huge red flags in Nancy’s case that “don’t add up.”

Savannah returned to the Today studio for the first time last week since her mother’s disappearance and was photographed sharing emotional embraces with her co-stars behind the scenes. After making her way to Manhattan, she was spotted wiping away tears and later delivered a heartfelt message.

Savannah thanked her colleagues for their support and prayers, particularly for “caring about my mom as much as I do.” In five words, she revealed what sustains her during this difficult period, saying, “I’m holding onto my faith. I still believe. And as my mom would say, ‘Where else would I go?’”

NBC confirmed to the Daily Mail that her visit was primarily “to be with and thank her Today colleagues” and that while she plans to return to on-air duties, her current focus remains on supporting her family and working toward bringing Nancy home.

“Savannah Guthrie stopped by the studio this morning to be with and thank her Today colleagues. Whilst she plans to return to the show on air, she remains focused right now supporting her family and working to help bring Nancy home,” a network spokesman said.

Meanwhile, rumors have swirled that Today has been cutthroat behind the scenes while Savannah has been away. Multiple sources claim some at the network even hoped she might never come back.

Amid this, NBC Nightly News anchor Tom Llamas faced criticism for initially not showing public support for Savannah, as he did not wear a yellow ribbon. He began wearing one on February 24, joining other colleagues in solidarity. In Tucson, yellow has become a symbol of hope as law enforcement continues to follow every lead in Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance. Neighbors and supporters have also adorned her home with yellow flowers, a visible reminder of the community’s prayers and solidarity.

“As we cover this—and if you’re an NBC News viewer, you usually watch these special nights—Savannah Guthrie is usually here anchoring all of our special political coverage,” Llamas said.

He continued, “She, of course, is dealing with the unthinkable right now. We know you’re out there, Savannah. We know you might be watching. We just want to let you know we are praying for you and your mom. We know you’re going to get back here at some point. These nights are not the same without you, but we completely understand what you are going through right now.”

Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance in Tucson has now entered its sixth week, with no arrests or public suspects. Investigators, including the FBI and local authorities, continue to follow thousands of tips after a $1 million reward was offered. They are said to be reviewing surveillance footage as well as possible Wi‑Fi disruptions on the night she vanished.
